Question:
Has anyone tried Marinol for pain management? My doctor has me on pain meds and Marinol to help control my Fibromyalgia. Not only is the Marinol very expensive, I also have not noticed any effects from it so far…..I know I just started on it, but I was told that Marinol is just THC and I would think that I would be feeling something. My prescription is for 10mg’s. Any suggestions? Debbie

Hi Debbie, We have many lively discussions on MJ and its derivatives. You may know more first hand about Marinol, mainly because it is not widely prescribed. Welcome to ASC-P ! I don’t think Marinol is just THC but someone here will know. Peace, Richard

I think it is delta-9-THC only. Which means that it is probably lacking some other substances found in MJ that can act synergistically with the THC. That is why it is such a sucky drug. — Bill Work

You may want to try increasing your Marinol dose to 15 mg. That’s the dose I take and it helps FM pain, depression and aggitation. I haven’t needed 20 mg. but I heard more than 20 mg. is ineffective.
