Is the disk ruptured or herniated? There is a differance. It can be compared to a tire on a car. It the differance between a blow out and a bulge or bubble on the sidewall. One can be fixed, the other replaced. Adam

Are you sure it’s a ruptured disc? I was told that I had a bulging disc, and that it could rupture, but actually it was a muscle spazm or charlie horse or whatever. I learned I could dig around the muscles in my lower back and my buttocks with my fingers (like I do for my wife’s back) and eventually find the knot in the muscle that felt good to ’squish’ out. That very much helped (and helpS) my back pain that I’ve had for 30 years! Also good for crik in the neck, catch under the shoulder blade, etc. Don’t know how to be sure it’s not ruptured disc. If you’ve had back pain for years, it could be the muscles. No Doc
