endo vs. Lupron on friday
Question:
Please don’t jump into a hyst! If you can check past posts, there is one from Mollie, who had a hyst last year and is still having massive problems with endo. She just had more surgery a few months ago and is still having problems. I, too, am skeptical on Lupron, but I have found a new dr who states that current research is showing that if Lupron is used right after a lap, results are greatly improved. The microscopic pieces of endo that are "stired" up are killed off by it, therefore, not implanted else where. Don’t know what else to tell you, but good luck. Erica Share what you know. Response:
The doctor wants to start Lupron right away. I’m wondering if a hystorectomy would be my best choice. I’ve had 2 surgeries in 6 weeks. I just can’t take anymore. Don’t think I am ready for the side effects of Lupron. I think this will change my life and my husband and my children.
I am scheduled for a hyst next wednesday. My dr wanted to do the Lupron, but my dh and I decided it was not worth it because the research we did said it was only a 50-50 chance of doing any good. With the reported side effects we said no way, no thanks. We have two children and my husband has a vasectomey so we felt the hyst was our last option at this point. We really are all tired of me feeling lousy all the time and my husband wants his sexlife back (not to mention I want my sexlife back). If you feel you don’t want any more children I would suggest talking to your dr about a possible hyst. Just be sure and do the research so you are well aware of your options. jewel
Response:
If you’re not willing to try lupron, don’t. I have the same skepticism about how it would change me mentally and I’m not willing to put my family through that. If you have reservations about it, don’t rush into it, let them know you need more time to think about it and research it first. You may still be healing from surgery since it was only 2 weeks ago, but if you’re not feeling like it did any good pretty soon, I’d seek another opinion from a new dr. Darcy
